Box Score 2 Conroe, Texas – The Dustdevils split day two in Conroe as they beat Missouri Western State 4-3, but fell 2-1 to Southeastern Oklahoma State in game two.
Game One
In game one, the Griffons started the scoring in the first inning, giving them an early 1-0 lead. In the fourth inning, the Griffons extended the lead to 2-0 with a solo home run.
The Dustdevils cut into the Griffon lead in the bottom of the fourth as
Damaris Saldivar came in to score.
The Griffons added another run in the top of the fifth to extend the lead back to two runs before TAMIU answered back with another run of their own as
Alexia Hernandez scored.
Zakayia Fredrick and
Katelyn Luera scored in the bottom of the seventh to earn the 4-3 win for TAMIU.
Andrea Hataway and
Celeste Apaez worked to get the job done for the Dustdevils in the circle.
Game Two
Kylie Goad was in the circle for the Dustdevils in game two. In six innings, Goad allowed one run on seven hits with one walk and one strikeout.
The Storm scored the first run of the game in the third inning off an RBI single. Southeastern added a run in the seventh, extending the Storm's lead to 2-0.
Kennedy Griego brought the Dustdevils within one in the bottom of the seventh with an RBI single, but the game ended 2-1 in favor of Southeastern Oklahoma State.
The Dustdevils wrap up the First Pitch Invitational Sunday against Regis University at 10 a.m. and Colorado Mesa at 12:30 p.m.
