Box Score 2 AUSTIN, Texas (March 13, 2018) – Delainy Thompson pitched her school record 55
th career compelte game as Texas A&M International University split a doubleheader against St. Edward's on Tuesday afternoon in Austin at Diane Daniel Field. After dropping the first game 4-3, the Dustdevils turned to their senior pitcher who held the Hilltoppers in check en route to a 4-1 victory. The Dustevils are now 10-21 on the season and 7-6 in Heartland Conference play.

St. Edward's 4, TAMIU 3
The Dustdevils opened up the scoring in the top of the first spearheaded by a leadoff single by
Cassie Cannon. She advanced to second on her eighth stolen base of the year before coming around to score on
Maya Paul's one-out single giving TAMIU a 1-0 lead. The Hilltoppers responded with three runs of their own to take a 3-1 in the bottom of the second on four hits.
Cannon scored for the second time of the game in the top of the fourth to cut the deficit to one, 3-2. The senior reached base on a walk before stealing her second bag to get into scoring position with one out.
Maddison Schofield singled up the middle for her first RBI of the game.
Melanie Lint kept the deficit at one in the bottom of the fifth getting back-to-back HIlltopppers to fly out after a one out triple to right center by Kayla Appleby.
Melanie Gamboa's 11 RBI of the season tied the game at 3-3 in the top of the sixth.
Samantha Edmiston led off the inning with a double to deep center fielder moving over to third on a wild pitch. A Cannon walk put runners on the corner with no outs, Gamboa laid down a bunt down the third base line that allowed Edmiston to score and tie the game. The Hilltoppers plated the winning run in the bottom of the seventh on a bases loaded single by Appleby.
Sara Caterson did not factor in the decision after going 2.0 innings allowing three runs (three earned) on five hits and one walk. Lint (4-7) pitched four innings in relief allowing one run (one earned) on two hits and a walked.

Robi Kami's two-out single to left field gave the Dustdevils a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth.
Paul reached base with one out on a walk moving over to second on her 10
th steal of the season. She remained at second as
Avianna Galvan reached first on an error from SEU's shortstop. Acuna loaded the bases with a blooper down the right field line at the next at-bat with Kami driving home the game's first run with a liner to left.
The Dustdevils added three more runs in the top of the sixth to extend the lead to 4-0. Paul once again got things started with a leadoff single before snagging second. Galvan reached base for the second straight at-bat with a single to right. Both runners advanced on stolen bases before coming around to score on Edmiston's third double of the season. The La Mirada, Calif. product used her speed to score from second on Kami's ground out to second. The Hilltoppers got one back in the bottom half of the inning on a triple to left from Appleby.
Delainy Thompson (4-8) went the distance for the seventh time this season allowing one run (one earned) on four hits and one walk while striking out four Hilltoppers.
