LAREDO, Texas (April 26, 2018) – Texas A&M International University takes its seven-game Heartland Conference win streak on the road for a three-game series against Lubbock Christian on April 27-28.. A sweep of the Lady Chaps paired with a loss from conference leaders Rogers State and St. Mary's would give the Dustdevils their first regular season title in program history. First pitch for game one of Friday's doubleheader is scheduled for 2 p.m. at PlainsCapital Field.

A LOOK AT THE DUSTDEVILS
The Dustdevils enter the final weekend of the regular season 23-30 overall and 17-10 in Heartland Conference. They went 9-3 during their 12-game homestand with three of those wins coming against ranked opponents.
Hitting
Maya Paul continues to pace a Dustdevils team that ranks second in the Heartland Conference in doubles. The freshman is hitting .336 with 13 doubles and one home run to drive in 19 runs. She has also stolen a team-high 20 bases on 21 attempts.
Maddison Schofield ranks second on the team with an average of .302 with seven doubles, five home runs and 30 RBIs. She is hitting a blistering .583 during the Dustdevils seven-game conference winning streak with two doubles and three home runs with eight RBIs.
Brandi Giles has also been on a tear during the win streak hitting .529 with two home runs and five RBIs.
Lindsey Smith has occupied the five spot in the lineup since returning from injury where she is hitting .354 with five doubles and five home runs with 15 RBIs while slugging .608.
Pitching
The Dustdevil pitching staff has the second-lowest ERA (2.12) of any team during Heartland Conference play while holding opposing hitters to an average of .232.
Melanie Lint has gone 11-8 with an ERA of 2.86 in 33 appearances and 15 starts during her freshman campaign. She has allowed 72 runs (54 earned) on 137 hits and 72 walks with 50 strikeouts in 132 1-3 innings. She has one career complete game shutout coming back on March 24 against St. Mary's. After a slow start to her senior season,
Delainy Thompson has found her groove over the past two months. The Eastvale, Calif. product is 11-8 with an ERA of 2.86 in 134 2-3 innings allowing 55 runs (51 earned) on 121 hits and 51 walks with a team-high 71 strikeouts.
Sara Caterson will more than likely to get a start in one of the games this weekend. The junior is 2-7 on the season with an ERA of 4.73 in 19 appearances and 14 starts.
A LOOK AT THE LADY CHAPS
Lubbock Christian enters the three-game series 29-14 overall and 16-11 in Heartland Conference play. They are 20-2 at home this season after taking both games of a doubleheader against Eastern New Mexico on Tuesday afternoon.
Hitting
The Lady Chaps lead the Heartland Conference in runs batted in (250), batting average (.287), slugging percentage (.469) and on-base percentage (.403) while ranking second in triples (11) and home runs (47). K'Leigh Arredondo is one of four Lady Chaps hitting over .300 as the junior transfer from Odessa College is 21 for 54 from the plate. Lindzi Clemmer is hitting .363 on the year with 10 doubles, three triples and 12 home runs to drive in 50 runs. She is slugging .727 with an on-base percentage of .424. Morgan Dufour is another big bat in the LCU lineup 24 of her 35 hits have gone for extra bases including 15 home runs.
Pitching
Monique Francois is the ace of the Lady Chap pitching staff going 21-5 in 29 appearances and 25 starts with an ERA of 1.92. She has allowed 60 runs (43 earned) on 123 hits and 50 walks while striking out 129. The junior has thrown 20 complete games and six shutouts while striking out 10 or more batters twice this season. Amber Carlton has started in 10 games this season going 4-3 with an ERA of 4.59. The freshman has allowed 39 runs (33 earned) on 65 hits and 13 walks with 25 strikeouts in 50 1-3 innings of work. Taylor Hinojosa and Clarissa Martinez have combined for 8 starts and 26 appearances this season.
THE SERIES
The Dustdevils are 3-13 all-time against the Lady Chaps and 0-6 in games played in Lubbock. The two teams last played in Lubbock in April 2016 with LCU taking all three games by a combined 25-7. In their last two victories over LCU, the Dustdevils have not allowed a run while only allowing five hits.
THE LAST MEETING
- The Dustdevils and Lady Chaps met twice earlier this season on March 27 in Laredo.
- LCU won game one, 6-0, with Morgan Dufour hitting a three-run home run in the top of the first. Haley Hardison added two insurance runs in the fourth with a single up the middle with runners on second and third.

AROUND THE HEARTLAND
St. Mary's and Rogers State enter the final weekend of the season tied atop the Heartland Conference standings at 16-9. If both teams sweep this weekend, the Rattlers will host the conference tournament thanks to taking two out of three from the Hillcats in March. The Dustdevils are third at 17-10 and could win the title outright with a sweep over Lubbock Christian and a loss by RSU and StMU. LCU and Oklahoma Christian round out the top five with an identical record of 16-11.

11 –With her next win in the circle,
Melanie Lint would break the freshman record for most wins. The Johnstown, Pa. product is 11-8 on the season with an ERA of 2.86 through 33 appearances and 15 starts. She is 3-0 with a 0.79 ERA over her last four appearances in conference games.
20 – With two stolen bases against West Texas A&M,
Maya Paul became the second player in program history to steal 20 or more bases in a season. She enters the final weekend of the regular season needing two steals to tie
Taylor Vines program record of 22 set back in 2016.
13 –Paul's 13 doubles are the sixth-most in a single season in program history tying Victoria Beltran (2008), Esmeralda Gonzalez (2014) and Brittany Musett (2015). Her .336 batting average is also the eighth-best in a single season.
169.1 – Sara Caterson's 169.1 innings pitched during her two-year career are the eighth-most in program history. With eight more innings in the circle, the junior would pass Krystal De La Cruz to move into seventh.
583.1 –Delainy Thompson is closing in on another milestone as the senior is less than 17 innings away from 600 for her career. The Eastvale, Calif. product 583.1 innings are the second-most in program history, trailing only Victoria Beltran's 618.1.
