Derek Garcia is a Freshman Shortstop/Infielder for Texas A&M International University and is currently pursuing a degree in Kinesiology. A native of Brownsville, Texas, Derek is the son of Victor and Monica Garcia and was born on November, 23, 2006.

High School:
Derek played four years of baseball at Los Fresnos High School in Los Fresnos,Texas. As a Falcon he had a .424 batting avg, 3 home runs, 21 stolen bases, tied for most triples (8) in Texas 6A in 2024, while making Los Fresnos history for most triples .He was named back to back 32-6A District MVP, and was the MVP of Rio Grande Valley All Star Game.
