Box Score SAN ANGELO, Texas (February 5, 2016) -- The Texas A&M International Softball team used 12 hits to defeatt Adams State 10-2. The game marked the first of six that TAMIU will play in the George McCorkel Challenge. The Dustdevils move to 1-2 on the season.
With runners on first and third,
Brittany Mussett singled to right field scoring
Chelsea Capello. After one inning TAMIU led 1-0. The Dustdevils added three (3) more runs in the second inning.
Anna Parnin doubled to left field, scoring
Krissy Sardelich. After a
Taylor Vines single, an errant throw from the catcher allowed Parnin to cross the plate.
Brenda Parnin followed with a sacrifice, scoring Vines from third. Up 5-2 heading to the fifth inning, the Dustdevils used a five (5) run fifth to take an eight (8) run advanatge.
Vines went 2-3 at the plate with 3 RBI.
Brenda Parnin went 1-3 with 2 RBI, while sister Anna finished with 1 RBI, one (1) run scored, and a double. Mussett, Vines, and
Alyssa Acuna each had a triple in the game.
Krystal De La Cruz went the distance for TAMIU. De La Cruz pitched 5 innings allowing two (2) runs on just four (4) hits. She finished with five (5) strikeouts and allowed just one extra base hit.
