Gonzalez had a strong sophomore season where she finished 11
th at the Islander Splash covering the 5,000-meter course in 22:09.0. She finished 42
nd at the Heartland Conference Championships at the Cessna Activity Center running 25:39.9 for 6,000-meters. She finished 23
rd at the UIW Invitational covering the 6K course in 25:48.1. Opened the season with a 55
th place finish at the Norry Hersey Rice Invite running 16:26.35 for 3,9000-meters.
2016:
Gonzalez was the Dustdevils fifth runner at the Heartland Conference Cross Country Championships where she finished 37
th covering the 6,000-meter course in 24:33.4. She finished 82
nd at the 7
th Annual Roadrunner Invitational at Washington Park in Denver, Colo. She finished 19
th at the Islander Splash where she ran 23:00.3 for 5,000-meters. Opened up her collegiate career with a 37
th place finish at the Dallas Baptist Patriot XC Invitational running 24:33.4.

Gonzalez ran all (4) years but lettered in cross country and track for (3) years. She was (3X) regional qualifier, Second Team All-District along with Honorable Mention.
Personal: Carla Gonzalez is the daughter of Nora and Alan Gonzalez and is joined by her lone sister Andrea. Gonzalez decided to stay in Laredo and attend TAMIU becuase it is part of her environment and has amazing opportunities to study abroad. Her most inspirational figure is her grandfather. Her future aspirations is to be an anesthesiologist and work in a hospital setting. Her favorite athlete is Tim Duncan, former San Antonio Spur, because he is one of the most humble athletes of all time. In her spare time, Gonzalez emjoys traveling, reading, going camping, listening to music, watching movies, and spending time with her family and friends.
