She was twice named to the all-city team during her high school career. She was named the 2016-17 best distance runner while also garnering most valuable player honors during the cross country season in 2016.
 
Personal:
Rosita is the daughter of Libaldo Armendariz and Alejandra Martinez and has five siblings, Izamar, Peria, Libaldo, Alejandra and Kevin. She chose to attend TAMIU because it offered everything that she looked for in a university while giving her an opportunity to do the thing that she loves the most, running. The inspirational figure in her life is Robert Bird. After graduating she wants to get a job as a teacher to give back to the community. She likes to talk about the Word of God with her friends during her free time. She also likes to spend time with siblings and nephews.
